Anti-anthrax protective antigen (PA) [Bacillus anthracis] therapeutic antibody (Pre-made Raxibacumab biosimilar, Whole mAb) is a biosimilar expressed by mammalian cell line as a benchmark reference therapeutic antibody for biological drug disovery items including cell culture, assay development, animal model development, PK/PD model development (Pharmacokinetics & Pharmacodynamic) and mechanism of action (MOA) research.
Raxibacumab [1] is a human monoclonal antibody intended for the prophylaxis and treatment of inhaled anthrax. Its efficacy has been proven in rabbits and monkeys.[2] In December 212 raxibacumab was approved in the United States for the treatment of inhalational anthrax due to Bacillus anthracis in combination with appropriate antibacterial drugs, and for prophylaxis of inhalational anthrax when alternative therapies are not available or are not appropriate.[3][4]
